the awaited belated

Good friends never forget each others' birthdays. And I swear I didn't! I was just too dizzy the entire day because of that glucose tolerance test I had to take. Did you have a wonderful time? Did you get everything you wished for? Oh, I really hope you did, I prayed for you that day, and sent magical positive thoughts your way.

I miss you, you know. I can't wait to see you in a month's time. Let's celebrate our birthdays again over coffee and cakes?

daily drop cap

L ike the drop caps i've been using? visit the daily drop cap, a project by typographer and illustrator jessica hische. each day she posts "a new hand-crafted decorative initial cap for your enjoyment and for the beautification of blog posts everywhere." or the loveliest ransom notes ever assembled. a great resource for design-savvy kidnappers.

(now i'm trying to think of what to say that starts with a B, just so i can use that gorgeous letter!)

priorities

plum

I t is useless to dwell on what might have beens. counterfactual thinking just drives me crazy so i avoid it altogether. you know what it's like: what if i did this instead? what if i spoke up? what if i said this?

i think it's particularly useless when it involves things that aren't important in the first place.

you all know that i've been wanting a dslr for the longest time. well, now that i finally have enough funds to buy a nice one, the funds are being set aside for something infinitely more important and more wonderful than a camera, or a trip to australia, for that matter. it's a nice kind of irony, i know.

and i do know that anyone can buy a camera, but having a baby is an entirely different kind of blessing. :)

besides, i'll probably be way too busy to take pictures in the coming months. so the camera can wait, right?
